RadioTime: A Guide to Internet Radio Stations

radiotimewhiteRecently, Online radio guide RadioTime, based in Dallas, announced that they raised $900k in new funding, from Startup Capital Ventures and ICCP Venture Partners. According to CEO Bill Moore, the company is profitable, with over 20 million listening sessions, growing 20 percent per month.

One of the big reasons behind their huge audience growth is RadioTime’s integrated guide for mobile and wireless standalone devices. VIZIO just became the latest multimedia device manufacturer to add the RadioTime Internet radio widget to its product. RadioTime will provide the online radio tuner for VIZIO’s new Connected HDTV platform. VIZIO joins a growing list of consumer device manufacturers such as Kodak, Logitech, Cisco and Sonos who are integrating the RadioTime guide into their devices.

RadioTime has aggregated streams from over 60,000 stations on their platform, offers programming from 140 countries and 11 languages. Listeners can search for stations by various criteria such as music genres and geographic locations. They recently opened an office in the UK to expand their relationship with manufacturers in Europe. The company’s got a lot going for it, with a nifty mobile platform, relationships with manufacturers and content providers, and the ability to drive audience to those stations.
